LEG ELASTIC

If you are using sewing machine for the leg elastic, the most important part for a great finish is making sure you top stitch along the inside edge of the elastic!

There are a few previous videos in pattern club of leg elastic finishing with a bit more detail/info.  You can find them here:

WELL DONE!  This completes your first pair of EMBRACE TOGS!

So.... in case you want to get fancy for your next pair....

I have done one more little video to help you out with double binding if you want to go wild!

Here is the photo walk through below!

DOUBLE BINDING

With right sides facing, sew bindings together.
If using overlocker, increase stitch length to avoid bulk.
If using sewing machine, use a long wide zig zag.

Attach elastic to wrong side of inside binding.
NOTE: Your zig zag stitch width in this step and the remaining steps to the end is what will determine the outside binding width.  I usually aim for a stitch width of 4.5 for my zig zag stitch which makes my outside and inside binding widths fairly equal in width when finished.

Wrap edge of inside binding up to conceal elastic.

With right sides facing align binding to main fabric, matching at quarter/half points as appropriate.  Inside binding should be sandwiched in the middle.

Attach binding to main stretching between matching points. View of right and wrong side after binding is attached.

Wrap edge of binding to wrong side.

Stitch binding.
